How it works
Five mechanisms. No snooping in any of them.
You shouldn't need to understand how it works to be protected by it — but you should be able to if you want to, and everyone in the house should too.
- 01
Links are checked before pages load
Every destination is checked against reputation data and lookalike-domain heuristics in a few milliseconds, using a privacy-preserving lookup. Page content never leaves your device, and there is no browsing log.
- 02
Trackers and ads are dropped at the network layer
Requests to advertising and tracking hosts are never made at all, across apps as well as browsers. That is why blocking removes the data collection and the page weight at the same time.
- 03
Money gets a hardened window
Banking and payment pages open isolated from extensions, overlays and screen capture, with the domain verified against the real institution. You see a small badge; you do nothing differently.
- 04
Public networks encrypt themselves
On any network you have not marked as trusted, traffic moves through an encrypted tunnel automatically. Lookalike hotspots stop being useful, and you never have to remember to switch anything on.
- 05
Breaches reach you as one clear instruction
Identity monitoring watches leak data for your emails, numbers and cards, then sends one plain-language alert naming the service, what was exposed and the ordered steps to fix it.
What we don't do
The short list matters more than the long one
- We don't read your messages or page content.
- We don't keep a browsing history.
- We don't sell or broker any of your data.
- We don't run scary fake scans.
- We don't use fear to drive upgrades.
- We don't lock the free tier behind a countdown.
Still curious
The guides go deeper than this page does
Every mechanism above exists because of something we learned the hard way — and wrote up in the Learning Center.
